The Cancer Services have specialist teams to deliver compassionate, high-quality care and support for cancer patients, their families and carers.

Macmillan Cancer Support and Information Service

The above services are a joint venture between Macmillan Cancer Support and East Cheshire NHS Trust and is located in The Christie at Macclesfield District General Hospital.  

Our philosophy

The centre operates a coordinated, multi-agency approach to the support of cancer patients, providing specialist cancer services in a confidential, friendly, supporting and informal environment.  This includes;

  • Macmillan Support and Information Service
  • Oncology Outpatient Clinics
  • Chemotherapy treatment suite
  • Oncology Research Team
  • Radiotherapy treatments

The centre is open from Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) from 8am to 5pm

The Macmillan Cancer Support website www.macmillan.org.uk provides specialist advice to patients with cancer, and those who care for them.  Our aim is to optimise the quality of life and we will endeavour to address individual concerns, whatever they may be.

The free Macmillan Support Line on 0808 808 00 00 is open 7 days a week, 8:00am to 8:00pm.

Prehab4Cancer

The Prehab4Cancer and Recovery programme is a free exercise, nutrition and wellbeing scheme in Greater Manchester. 

Designed to help people with a recent diagnosis of cancer prepare for and cope better with their treatment.
