Our highly specialised team of cardiac consultants, nurses and physiologists offer a comprehensive range of investigations and treatments using state-of-the-art techniques and technology both at Macclesfield District General Hospital and within the community.
The cardiology team provides a full range of cardiac care for our patients in the treatment and prevention of heart conditions, including heart attacks, heart failure and acute heart rhythm problems and patients requiring rehabilitation following heart surgery or coronary intervention.
The Coronary Care Unit and Cardiology Ward provide expert care for patient’s requiring admission. The cardiology medical and nursing teams work closely with the Cardio-Respiratory Department (CRD) which provides a wide range of in-patient and out-patient diagnostic investigations and treatments. The cardiac rehab team provide support and education for patients both in hospital and after discharge.
The cardiology team work together to aid patient recovery and provide a high quality service in a safe environment where the needs of each patient are cared for in a professional and holistic manner.
