Emergency Ambulatory Care Unit (EACU) provides same day emergency care to patients.
Patients are assessed, diagnosed, treated and are able to go home the same day, without being admitted overnight. Ambulatory Care is a way of providing safe care designed around the needs of the patients.
Where possible, we aim to arrange any tests or treatments required for within the duration of your visit. This enables you to go home the same day and continue your treatment on an ambulatory basis.
You will usually have been referred to Emergency Ambulatory Care by;
- your GP,
- the Urgent Care Centre,
- the Emergency Department
- your inpatient ward for an earlier supported discharge home as part of your enhanced recovery programme
