Birth Service

Birth Services provide high-quality, safe care that meets your needs and those of your baby and family. We will help you to make informed decisions about your care so that you and your family feel confident about your pregnancy, birth and parenting your new baby.

General information

At Macclesfield Birth Centre we believe that women should be at the centre of decisions about their care. On the labour ward we aim to support women and their partners to ensure child birth is a positive experience.

We are committed to maintaining the highest possible standards of care, based on recommended best practice, the expertise of the midwife and current research. To undertake the care we have a team of skilled midwives whose role is to provide personalised care in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

For women who require minimal intervention, midwifery-led care including home birth, is an option. Hydrotherapy for pain relief and labour is encouraged, mobilisation during labour and the adoption of different positions in labour.

We also have a robust framework of care pathways for women who require specialist obstetric input to ensure the health and wellbeing of both mother and baby.

Having access to supportive, high quality maternity services is the right of every woman and at Macclesfield we aim to provide a positive birth experience based on your wishes and cultural preferences.
