North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service
The North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service (NMCPS) is a Pathology network that provides a pathology service to the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM), Mid Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust (MCHFT), and East Chesire Trust (ECT).
As of the 1st of April 2021, UHNM is the legal entity responsible for the services run by NMCPS.
NMCPS is committed to providing a safe, reliable and high-quality service to our users and to ensuring that the well-being, safety and rights of our patients are our primary consideration.
NMCPS complies with all relevant regulatory bodies and legislation including Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and the Human Tissue Authority (HTA). NMCPS is committed to the International Standard ISO 15189 Medical laboratories – Requirements for quality and competence.
Current schedules of Pathology tests accredited by United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) against standards for Medical Laboratories – Requirements for quality and competency (ISO 15189), for each department within Pathology, are available on the UKAS web site using the following link:

Opening times, location of the laboratory, and contact telephone numbers are available in the Pathology Handbook (see link below). The handbook also includes information for users on the laboratory's repertoire including specimens required, sample volumes, special precautions, turnaround times and reference ranges.
